Pasting a Stamp Selecting Stamps from the menu or the Stamp button from the Toolbox will display the Stamps dialog box and place you in Stamp mode . In the dialog box, you will see three tabs 20X20, 25X25 and 30X30. Each of the tabs represent a different size stamp available. All together there are over 170 predefined stamps to choose from.
You can paste stamps in one of two modes; regular or transparent. If you select Stamp Transparent, it will paste the stamp such that the pattern background is still visible through the pasted stamp.
Creating a Stamp You can create your own stamps by selecting the Create Stamp button in the Stamp dialog box. A drag box will display on your pattern. Move the box to the location on the pattern where you want the stamp to be created from. Releasing the mouse, places the new stamp in the Stamp dialog box.
Deleting a Stamp You can delete stamps by selecting a stamp from the Stamp dialog box and selecting Delete Stamp button. The stamp will be deleted from the dialog box.
Kaleidoscope
Selecting Kaleidoscope under the Tool menu or Kaleidoscope button in the Toolbox displays the Kaleidoscope dialog box.
First… using the mouse, select an area of the pattern to kaleidoscope. Next… there are five kaleidoscope options to choose from. Select one of the five kaleidoscope options and press the OK button.
Your selected area will be repeated as many times as can fit inside your pattern following the repeat pattern you selected. For example:
Selecting this part of the pattern converts to this when the fifth option is selected.
Mirror Mode Selecting Mirror mode under the Tool menu or Mirror mode button in the Toolbox displays the Mirror Mode dialog box. The current mirror mode will be selected.
Mirror choices are:
Display Axis You can display the horizontal and vertical lines mirroring occurs on by selecting Display Axis. The horizontal and vertical lines are determined when you first press the left mouse button down on the pattern.
For example, selecting Both-Mirrored and Display Axis and then selecting the square in row 5, column 5, will display a horizontal and vertical line down column 5 and across row 5.
The Start New button If you want to change the vertical and horizontal mirroring axis, select the Start New button and select a new square on the pattern.
Inserts Selecting Inserts under the Tool menu or Inserts button in the Toolbox displays the Inserts dialog box and places you in insert mode.
The Inserts dialog box is split in half. On the left side are folders that contain inserts. On the right side is the insert preview window.
Previewing an Insert Double-clicking on a folder opens the folder and displays all inserts in the folder. Clicking on an insert displays the insert in the preview window.
Pasting an Insert Once an Insert is in the Preview window, you can select the Paste Insert button. Selecting the Paste Insert button will paste the insert onto your pattern. Using your left mouse button you can drag the Insert to where you want on the pattern.
All together there are over 45 predefined inserts to choose from.
Transparent toggle button Before you select Paste Insert button, you can select the Paste Transparent toggle button. Now when you select Paste Insert button, the insert will be copied to the pattern such that any background pattern will display through your pasted insert.
Create a New Insert Folder Select Create Folder button to create a new Insert folder. You will be prompted for a folder name. Entering a folder name and selecting OK button will place your new folder in the Folders/Inserts list displayed in the left hand side of the Inserts dialog box.
Create a New Insert Select Create Insert to create a new Insert. The Create Insert dialog box will display. Select or enter the name of the folder you want your insert to be placed in. Next using your mouse, select an area of the currently displayed pattern you want to become the insert. Last enter a unique name for the insert and select the Done button. Your insert will be placed in the folder you selected and displayed in the Preview window located on the right hand side of the Inserts dialog box.
Pen Sizes Select Pen size under the Tool menu to change the size of the pen. Selecting Pen size will display a dialog box of 3 different pen sizes. The smallest size is one square in width, the next size is 2 squares in width and the largest size is 3 squares in width.
Eraser Sizes Select Eraser size under the Tool menu to change the size of the eraser. Selecting Eraser size will display a dialog box of 3 different eraser sizes. The smallest size is one square in width, the next size is 2 squares in width and the largest size is 3 squares in width.
Grab and Move Selecting the move button from the Toolbox will allow you to grab the pattern with your mouse and move it around. Just select from the toolbox, then with the left mouse button press and drag on the pattern moving it around until you centered it the way you what. Release the mouse and you are done.
Vertical Text Selecting the text button from the Toolbox will allow you to add text to your pattern. Selecting the icon will display the Text Edit dialog box.
Select the text direction either Horizontal or Vertical.
Enter the text you want to add to your pattern in the Enter Text field. As you type text you will see your text displayed in the Preview area.
Once you have finished entering your text, select the Font button. The Font dialog box will display. Select a font and select the OK button. The Preview area will display your text in the new font selected.
Now select the OK button in the Text Edit dialog box. Your Text will display inside your pattern. Using MB1, drag the text to the location you wish on your pattern.
Popcorn Stitch Selecting allows you to fill squares with the popcorn stitch. Using the left mouse button, select the icon and a square on the pattern. The popcorn symbol will display in the square.
Pattern Browser Selecting Browse patterns… under the File menu allows you to preview all your patterns. Selecting Browse patterns… will display the Open dialog box. In the Open dialog box, select one or more files and click OK. The Pattern Browser dialog box will display along with mini versions of your patterns. Selecting a mini pattern will open the pattern.
Row/Column Counter Direction You can change the direction of the Row/Column counters by clicking on the row or column counter direction arrow. The arrow indicates the current direction that counter increases in. For example <- indicates that the counter increases to the left.
Used Color Dialog Box Selecting Colors used under Tool menu allows you to display all the different colors currently used in your pattern. If single color mode is selected then only one color is used for the whole pattern and that color is displayed. If multiple color mode is selected then each different color is displayed.
To change one of the colors to a different color, select the color from the dialog box. The Color Chooser dialog box will appear. Select a new color and click OK in the Color Chooser dialog box. The new color will replace the selected color. Selecting OK in the Used Colors dialog box will change out the color to the new color on the whole pattern.
Finish Product Color Selecting Finished product under the Display menu will display your crochet pattern as it would look like once you have crocheted it. Select the Color button in the toolbar to change the thread color. The Color selector dialog box will appear. Select a color and OK. The thread color will change to the color you selected.
Save to Bitmap (BMP) File Select Save as bitmap (bmp) under the File menu to save a picture of your pattern as a bitmap. Selecting Save as bitmap (bmp) will display the Save As dialog box.
This dialog box contains several fields to help you select the name and folder for your file.
The "Save in" field displays the current folder you are looking at. Selecting the down arrow on the "Save in" field displays a list of drives and folders you can change to. Select the folder you wish to save the file on.
The "Save as type" field indicates which type (.bmp) file you wish to save the file as. Selecting the down arrow in this field displays a list of file types you can view.
Note you must save the file as a Filet Crochet (.cht) file and not a bitmap (.bmp) file if you wish Filet Crochet to be able to view or edit the file. Filet Crochet cannot edit or view a previously saved pattern in bmp format.
Enter the name for the file you wish to save in the File name field. Once you have enter the file name select the Save button. If no error has occurred (i.e. valid file name) the dialog box will disappear and the file will be saved. Note that selecting "Save as bitmap (.bmp) ..." does not close the file and the pattern continues to be displayed in the screen area. Any additional saves (selecting Save under File menu) of this pattern will be made to the currently opened (.cht) file you specified when you opened the pattern.
Jump to Web Page Selecting Jump to Web Page button in the toolbox allows you to turn your pattern into a web page and view it using a browser. Selecting will automatically open your pattern as a web page using your default browser. If you want you can save a copy of the web page and then upload it to your web site.
Pattern Check Sample Pattern Edgings Menu Select Sample pattern edgings menu under the Display menu to display pages of sample pattern crochet edgings. For each sample edging, the instructions, a follow along diagram and a finish product picture is displayed.
Pattern Check The Pattern Check option allows you to check which edgings will work with your pattern. Selecting Pattern Check displays the Pattern Check dialog box.
Current Opened Pattern Selecting Current Opened Pattern and OK button will list all the sample pattern edgings that will work with the currently displayed pattern.
Check Pattern Below Selecting Check Pattern Below option allows you check any pattern by entering the total number of rows and columns in the pattern. A list of all the sample pattern edgings that will work with the pattern will display.
Context Sensitive Help When you need to know how to use a feature, just select and any button or menu item you want help on. Complete instructions on the feature and how to use it will be presented to you.

Importing from a Graphic File

Here are the steps:
Importing from a Crochet Pattern File You can copy parts of other Filet Crochet patterns and import them into your current pattern.
Importing from the Clipboard Images get placed on the clipboard either from selecting the copy option in another program or selecting the Print Screen button on your keyboard.
If a picture is placed on the clipboard, the “From the Clipboard” option will be selectable. Select “From the Clipboard” and the picture will display in the Wizard dialog box.
